As I sit here typing, I’m wondering what I should make of these study results. Studies have also shown that even light activity to break up the periods of prolonged sitting can reduce that risk. CNN —As someone who’s been reporting on the climate crisis for more than a decade, I can say that the most insidious threat to climate action isn’t denial or apathy. That’s tragic, especially in light of the long and frustrating history of fossil fuel interests injecting doubt into policy conversations about the climate crisis. The broad strokes of climate science have been well understood for several decades now. The fallout of that doubt still haunts political conversations about the climate crisis today. In the United States, only 35% of adults talk about the climate crisis at least occasionally, according to a 2021 survey from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication.

COVID-19 vaccine uptake this fall is perhaps not what many had hoped it would be. The rates appear to be on track with the rollout of the previous updated COVID-19 shot but fall significantly short of the flu vaccine coverage so far this season. A couple other factors have probably affected vaccine uptake to a smaller extent. Smith says that it is surprising how the COVID-19 vaccination rates compare to flu shot uptake. Combination flu and COVID-19 vaccines are in the works but aren’t expected to be available to the public until 2025.

The appeals court has temporarily frozen the gag order as Trump continues to contest it. “The Gag Order violates President Trump’s most fundamental First Amendment rights. The former president was recently under a gag order in the $250 million New York state civil fraud case. “The entire Gag Order rests on an unconstitutional ‘heckler’s veto’ theory, so it is overbroad in its entirety.”Trump’s arguments were not persuasive when he tried to have Chutkan pause the gag order while his appeal unfolded.

☆ Zepbound: The newest obesity medication explained by an expert

CNN —The US Food and Drug Administration approved the medication Zepbound last week to treat chronic obesity. Tirzepatide joins a similar medication called semaglutide that was also initially developed for diabetes treatment under the name Ozempic and has since been approved to treat obesity under the name Wegovy. Studies on both have shown high effectiveness in treating diabetes and obesity. The injectable medication Zepbound, manufactured by Eli Lilly, was approved by the FDA on November 8 to treat chronic obesity. Note that technically, the versions of the medicines someone needs for obesity treatment are Zepbound and Wegovy.

CNN —The American Cancer Society has just updated their lung cancer screening guidelines in an effort to increase earlier detection. In women, breast cancer is more common than lung cancer, and in men, prostate cancer is more common than lung cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2023, there will be about 238,000 cases of lung cancer, and about 127,000 people will die from lung cancer. Wen: There are two main types of lung cancers, small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Those with first-degree relatives with lung cancer may also have a slightly higher risk of lung cancer themselves, though often this is hard to separate from the effect of second-hand smoke.

"AI is really reaching all aspects of the law," said Wayne Cohen, managing partner at Cohen & Cohen and a law professor at the George Washington University School of Law. While the current use of AI in the U.S. legal industry operates intensely behind the scenes, it's inching further into the front lines of the courtroom. Jason Boehmig, CEO and co-founder of digital contract company Ironclad and who has experience as a corporate attorney, said AI can review a company's legal contracts, learning its preferred language and drafting and negotiating contracts in the organization's historic legal voice. On the spectrum of the legal system, the businesses on either end of the contract arguably have less to lose than, say, an individual whose basic freedoms are at stake. In all of these applications, experts say the ideal situation is for humans to review AI's work.
